Microstrip Feed Trapezoidal Shape Antenna Array with Defected Ground Structure for S Band Applications

In this proposal new trapezoidal patch microstrip feed antenna array with ground defected by square shape is designed for detailed parameter study in terms of return loss, VSWR, gain and radiation pattern S band applications from 2 to 3 GHz. The bandwidth properties four radiating element arranged x has been improved defecting half the etching opposite vertical point. 30 70 1.6 mm dimension structure fabricated FR4 substrate low cost performance analyzed three different planes. With comparison full ground, proposed proved improvement behavior loss -34.687 dB ideally fit VSWR 1.038. Parametric length thickness also performed optimized decision dimension. This reveals that reducing increasing length, we can improve reduction. front view simulated compared results shows reduction -22 achieved value 1.03 2.28 structure. CST software conform be used application like airport surveillance radars wide 120 MHz 3.52 dBi. Comparison made between antennas available literature respect gain, reflection coefficient defection type better understanding.
